Anna Peachey

Anna is COLMSCT Teaching Fellow with the Centre for Open Learning in Maths, Science, Computing and Technology, a CETL based at The Open University. As well as researching identity and community in MUVEs she is generally responsible for overseeing all OU activity in virtual worlds, and manages development and events on the OU islands Open Life and SchomeBase in Second Life. Anna co-developed the previous OU island, Cetlment, and has been teaching undergraduate classes in Second Life for nearly two years. She is also an active member and researcher in the Schome community and has worked extensively in the teen grid of Second Life on the Schome Park project, where communication was facilitated through a blended approach of forum, wiki and inworld activity. Current projects include several publications, further teaching programmes, development and piloting of professional development training for Thomson Reuters and chairing Researching Learning in Virtual Environments (ReLIVE08), an international conference on education in virtual worlds being held at the OU campus in Milton Keynes in November (www.open.ac.uk/relive08).
